SEASONS GREETINGS FROM THE PACK HORSE

2015 has been a special year for us as we celebrated our 15th year at The Pack Horse and would like to thank all of our guests, past and present, for making these 15 years so lovely! We have continued to renovate and improve the apartments this year, including a makeover of the bathroom and kitchen in Stable Cottage, and other developments in Honeysuckle in January/February. We are also refurbishing Bridge View just in time for Christmas. The latest photos of the improved apartments will be up on our Pack Horse facebook page which we are slowly but surely growing in followers - if you haven't already, please feel free to 'like' our page (it would be very much appreciated) - there is a link via our website www.thepackhorse.net. We are also so proud and thrilled to now have over 40 wonderful tripadvisor reviews, and would like to thank all our guests who kindly took time to write a review this year.

As for our more personal news; we have had a busy year! Laura turned 21 in February, and we were delighted when she graduated from the university of Leicester with a First Class honours graduation - it was a very special day. After graduating, she began to focus on her art more, creating a new range of wildlife portraits that now feature in a lovely gallery in Minehead called 'Courtyard Framing and Gallery'. If you are interested, her work can also be viewed in her online portfolio - www.lauraclareillustrations.weebly.com.

Jessie has also had a big year; after turning 18 in March (spending her birthday in Malaysia), she finished her 2 year apprenticeship with a distinction and is now a fully-fledged travel advisor. In October, due to her hard workand passion for her job, she was subsequently awarded 'Travel Advisor of the Year' for Thomson in the South of England. She now continues to thrive at her job, whilst also planning a well-deserved travel break next year, she finally passed her driving test in November - what a year she's had! We couldn't be more proud of our girls!

You may have spotted Brian and his 5 seconds of fame (maybe less??) on the channel 5 documentary 'The Special Needs Hotel'. The programme followed Brian's place of work; Foxes Academy, and has given the establishment the credit and media focus it deserves. As for Brian, his brief television appearance means he has risen to celebrity status at the local pub and is often signing autograghs (well he wishes!). Brian now works part-time at Foxes (Monday - Wednesday) so he can spend more time tending to the on-going maintenance and never ending projects at The Pack Horse!

After spending the Summer working at the Pack Horse, Laura and her partner Jason flew to Australia at the beginning of September after a wonderful leaving party with close family and friends. They are currently in the outback amongst the wonderful (and terrifying) Australian wildlife, undergoing regional work to apply for a second year visa. We miss Laura very much, and Christmas won't feel the same without her this year. However, we are counting down the days until we are reunited with her and Jason in Brisbane in February for a whole month of fun and relaxation!

As for the Pack Horse animals, everyone is happy and healthy. Holly is waiting for the opportune moment to open any unattended presents under the tree, whilst the cats look forward to any turkey leftovers (and the rabbits, some festive Brussel sprouts!). Beau is forever improving from his spinal injury in September 2014, and has fully mastered the art of walking and jumping again, (though, not much grace), now just waiting for his bladder muscules to return (please Santa!!).

All in all, we have had a wonderful and exiting year, Brian and I have enjoyed the busy season, welcoming back so many returning guests, and meeting so many new guests too. We look forward to what the following year brings.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year and hope to see you in 2016.

Kindest regards

Linda, Brian, Laura, Jess and all the Pack Horse pets
